November's excitement so far has been a North American tour (well, 3 dates) with the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, kicking off with a sell-out at the Carnegie Hall, New York (Zankel Hall, sold out within a couple of hours of the tickets going on sale). We then moved on to a rapturous reception in the friendly town of Erie, Pensylvania (they don't get out much) before a rave last night at the Convocation Hall, Toronto (made all the more special by the attendance of some very dear friends and family who are settled in those parts).
First time I've toured over there since the Penguins in '88 and '95... Interesting experience with the unionised staff of the Carnegie Hall, not to mention the amazing range of people who came to see the show!
Hopefully this taster tour of the Americas will lead to more dates for them. The Ukes are now in New Zealand (without me, sadly) but I look forward to doing more shows with them in the run-up to the festivities.

Speaking of which, this week's big gig was the switching on of the Christmas Lights in Kingston upon Thames (Bentall's Centre), a long standing annual engagement which marks the realisation that Christmas is coming (aagh...).
