Its been a very exciting last half of 2011, and an even more exciting 2012
so far.
The Home Service re-union has far outperformed our expectations.
It began with two very emotional gigs at the Half Moon, Putney, and then on
to hugely well received festival appearances at Cambridge, Cropredy, Sidmouth,
Shrewsbury, Towersey, Broadstairs and Derby Folk Festivals…..then nominated for
the Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2 categories – Best Band and Best Live Act. We won
Best Live Act!! Lots more gigs this year – can’t wait!

The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain have been going from strength to
strength, with lots of shows all over England. They also played their first show
in Paris at the Theatre de la Ville to a sold out, very enthusiastic crowd. They
have lots more gigs lined up in 2012: they’re just back from a trip to Australia
(which unfortunately didn’t include me) but I rejoin them for a trip to
Scandinavia in April.

Murray Head is still going very strongly with lots of gigs in France, and so
far we’ve been to Caen, Louvroil, Royan, Carpentras, Albi and Paris this
year.

At the end of October, former members of the Penguin Café Orchestra got
together as "The Orchestra that Fell to Earth" for a show as part of the
Canterbury Festival.
It was a magical affair and great to see everyone again.
Hopefully more gigs will follow in 2012.
The PA Company continues to provide support and equipment for events at the
Lawn Tennis Association (Roehampton) and Kingston’s own Bentalls centre, which
keep us busy in between the musical excursions.
Following the government flogging off of radio mic frequencies (amazing what
they can sell!) our new stock of radio mikes arrived this week, so we hope to be
getting our monies worth with them in the next few months!
